Thurs. June 5th we packed up Mom & headed out. It is so good getting to finally get Mom to go up & see her family. We praised God for good health, safety & the opportunity to do this trip. Fri. After a good nights rest in a Sweetwater, TN. Hotel we were on the road to my Aunt Carolyn's house in Fountain City, IN. My Mom was getting anxious about mid day & started reading every sign out loud so we were really happy to arrive at the farm. It sure was great to see my Aunt & cousin Pam & Tom after 5 years. Sat. Al & I left Mom to visit her relatives & we traveled through the beautiful farm land of Indiana & Ohio. On the way we stopped at Renegades Cycle & met the owner Chris. He wanted to go out to our truck to see our chopper & shared to AL about his sobriety through being saved by Jesus. We all prayed in his parking lot then we were on our way. We got to Realities Church & unloaded the DOIN TIME chopper. Butch & Barb invited us to their home for dinner & we had a nice visit & prepared for the BIKER CHURCH SERVICE. Sun. Al rode his bike into the church & spoke at the 1st service about how to receive Gods peace. He made us laugh & told us remember to have a love relationship with Jesus. At the 2nd service there were over 600 people & 240 bikes showed up. Al touched us all with a message about the Sower of the Seeds. Matthew 13. We had a great time with the congregation & all the bikers that came. We really appreciated getting to know the Black Sheep MC & all the Ohio bikers. Mon. We rode to Sandusky, Ohio on Lake Erie for Ohio Bike Week. It is only the 3rd year & very, very small but thats how they start out. We saw Doobie a vender who engraved our logo on the engine cover of our chopper last Biketoberfest. Hes always a trip to see. We ran into Bev & Steve who we know from CMA & had lunch. We met some new believers who are bike builders & have a shop in IN. Tues. We stopped last night just in time because of a bad storm. We got up & went to the old Ohio State (Prison) Reformatory where they filmed Als favorite movie, The Shawshank Redemption. It was awesome. We were able to park the chopper in front & take pictures. Then we took a tour of the prison in which they are trying to restore. It has been closed since 1990 & they were going to tear it down but the Historical Society fought to restore it. It is in Mansfield, OH. The Ohio Bike Week had 52 bikes come in for a tour today also. So we got to know lots of new bikers & the girls that worked at the prison. It was a great day
Wed. We drove back to my aunts house in Indiana where we stayed till the weekend. Sun. On Fathers Day we had our annual reunion. There were over 40 relatives there and plenty of country food to go around. It was a very festive occasion. Mon. We started back to Florida but on the way back we took back roads. We was in no hurry to get back & we all agreed to see the country that God designed for us. We road on 127 through Tenn. & Kentucky. It was a very nice & relaxing road. We got to see pecan trees & stopped at a few antique stores. Of course we had to stop & pick up some Georgia peaches. This was a great trip & we thank the Good Lord for His provision to our ministry.
